Macrame Workshop - Plant Hanger

There’s something special about gathering in a beautiful, light-filled space, hands busy, conversations flowing, and creativity taking shape thread by thread. I hosted a cozy macramé workshop in a stylish studio nestled in one of Barcelona’s charming districts, filled with natural light, soft colors, and a warm, inspiring atmosphere. Four wonderful women came together for three hours of learning, experimenting, and creating.

We began by exploring the basics getting to know the different types of cords, their thickness, and how each choice affects the final piece. One of the most interesting parts of the session was understanding how material can completely change the process. For more delicate, detailed designs, thinner cords are ideal, allowing for precision and softness. On the other hand, thicker cords help you work faster and are perfect for creating larger, more structured pieces.

As the session progressed, each participant began to develop her own rhythm and style. To add a personal touch, we introduced beads into the designs. Each woman carefully selected beads that reflected her taste, which brought a beautiful layer of individuality to every piece.

By the end of the workshop, what started as the same materials and techniques transformed into four completely unique creations. That’s the magic of handmade work no two pieces are ever the same, because each one carries the personality of the person who made it.

It was not just about learning macramé, but about slowing down, connecting, and enjoying the creative process together. ✨
